十、作形式賓語
句型一: 主語+謂語動詞+it +賓語補足語+(for/of sb.)+不定式/動名詞/名詞性從句
在這個句型中，謂語動詞通常是find, think, make, consider, regard等。引導名詞性從句的有that, if, whether, who, what, when, where, how等。
201. I think it important that we keep up with the times.
202. I think it possible for us to get there on time if we hurry.
203. Do you think it possible to finish it in time?
204. We all consider it wrong to cheat in examination.
205. I feel it my duty to help the poor.

it可以用在have, enjoy, hate, like, love, take, appreciate等動詞后充當形式賓語。

句型二
①.主語+take it for granted that…
②.It is taken for granted that…
此句型意為“認為……是理所當然的”，that可省略。
223. They took it for granted that he will win the pretty girl’s favor. (應得漂亮姑娘的芳心)
224. It is taken for granted that everyone is equal before the law.
十一、用于強調結構
句型：It is/was + 被強調部分 +that/who +其他成分.
被強調的是人時可以用that或who，或whom，其它一律用that。
(一). 強調主語
225. It is I who am to blame.都怪我。
226. It was Mr. Wang who/that gave me this dictionary.
227. It is the people who are really powerful. 真正強大的是人民。
228. It is Beijing that is the capital of China.
229. It’s I who runs this shop, not you.
230. I was he that helped the old man across the street.

(三). 強調狀語

十二、沒有實意的if
(一). 作seem, happen等動詞的主語
it常做seem, appear, happen, turn out等動詞的主語，在這些結構中，it沒有實意。
253. It seems unlikely that he will pass the exam.他不大可能會通過考試。
254. It happened that I was not in the classroom when the earthquake happened. 地震發生時我碰巧不在教室。
255. It turned out (to be) a stormy day. 結果那天風狂雨驟。
256. It appears that she have many friends. 她似乎有很多朋友。
(二). 泛指“生活”、“生活環境”等
