1. 像old, long, tall, deep, thick, wide等形容詞可用于具體的年齡(歷史時(shí)間)、長度、高度、深度、厚度、寬度等。如：

He is forty years old. 他四十歲了。

She is only five feet tall. 她只有五英尺高。

The room is ten metres long. 這間屋子長10米。

The fiver is 100 metres wide. 這條河有100米寬。

The water was fifteen feet deep. 水有十五英尺深。

2. 但heavy不一樣，它不能與具體的表示重量的短語連用。如：

誤：Each box is about 10 kilos heavy.

正：Each box is about 10 kilos.

這件行李重20公斤。

誤：This luggage is 20 kilograms heavy.

誤：This luggage is 20 kilograms.
