1. all, some, a lot of, most等修飾可數名詞時,述語動詞用復數形式;修飾不可數名詞時,述語動詞用單數形式。

Some people are talking.

一些人在談話。

Most of the money has been spent.

2. There be..., Here be...等句型中的述語動詞形式與緊接在后面的名詞或代名詞一致。

There is only one student who failed. That’s you!

只有一個同學沒及格。那就是你!

Ok, guys, here is his work.

好，同學們，這就是他的作品。

There are some people waiting for you.

有一些人在等你。

3. none of后接復數名詞時述語動詞可用單數或復數。

So ugly! None of us has (have) seen such an ugly girl.

太丑了!我們誰也沒見過這么丑的女孩。

None of us is able to understand this.

None of us are able to understand this.

我們沒人能弄清楚。

4. more than one of或many a+單數名詞,雖然表示復數概念,但述語動詞用單數。

Many a student has passed.

許多同學都通過了。

More than one of the official is involved in this.

不只一個官員與此事有牽連。

5. a number of后接復數名詞,述語動詞用復數;the number of后接復數名詞,表示單數的意思,后接單數述語動詞。

But a number of my friends say it is good.

我的一些朋友們說這不錯。

A number of students are going.

一些學生要去。

The number of factories is increasing.

工廠的數目在增長。
