2. There be..., Here be...等句型中的述語動(dòng)詞形式與緊接在后面的名詞或代名詞一致。

There are some people waiting for you.

有一些人在等你。

3. none of后接復(fù)數(shù)名詞時(shí)述語動(dòng)詞可用單數(shù)或復(fù)數(shù)。

So ugly! None of us has (have) seen such an ugly girl.

太丑了!我們誰也沒見過這么丑的女孩。

None of us is able to understand this.

None of us are able to understand this.

4. more than one of或many a+單數(shù)名詞,雖然表示復(fù)數(shù)概念,但述語動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)。

Many a student has passed.

許多同學(xué)都通過了。

More than one of the official is involved in this.

不只一個(gè)官員與此事有牽連。

5. a number of后接復(fù)數(shù)名詞,述語動(dòng)詞用復(fù)數(shù);the number of后接復(fù)數(shù)名詞,表示單數(shù)的意思,后接單數(shù)述語動(dòng)詞。

But a number of my friends say it is good.

我的一些朋友們說這不錯(cuò)。

A number of students are going.

一些學(xué)生要去。

The number of factories is increasing.
