一、Need 作情態(tài)動(dòng)詞

后面不帶to，表示必要，僅用於否定句及疑問(wèn)句, 或用於if及whether之後或與hardly﹑ scarcely﹑ no one等連用：

You needn’t finish that work today.

你今天不必把那項(xiàng)工作做完.

`Need you go yet?’ `No, I needn’t.’

‘你一定得去嗎?’‘我不必去.’

He wondered whether they need send a deposit.

他不知道他們是否得交定金.

If she wants anything, she need only ask. 她想要什麼, 只需說(shuō)一聲就行.

I need hardly tell you hat the work is dangerous.

無(wú)須我說(shuō)你也知道那工作有危險(xiǎn).

Nobody need be afraid of catching the disease.

誰(shuí)都不用害怕能得這種病.
