afford v. /offer v. /provide v.

afford的意思是“有條件擔(dān)負(fù)，支付得起”;offer的意思是“給予，提出，出價”;provide的意思是“提供，供給，為……做準(zhǔn)備”，常與for, with一起連用。

例：John can’t afford to give so much time to it.

約翰花不起這么多時間來做這件事。
