首先在英文中，我們盡量避免使用fat這個詞，而另一個詞“chubby”可能會委婉很多chubby face則表示胖嘟嘟的圓臉，我們可以說，You look a little chubby these day. (你最近看起來臉更圓了)；第二種表達(dá)，也是避開fat，用weight來代替，lose weight是減肥，那么gain weight就是變胖，我們可以說You’ve gained some weight during this winter.(今年冬天你胖了些)。
