Conversation 1
A : How about your study at college?
B : I was doing quite well at college. I completed my MBA degree in international trade with first-class honors.
A : Why did you select your college?
B : I selected my college because it had an excellent academic reputation.
A : What do you like doing in your spare time?
B : My favorite recreation is cooking. I learned to cook Chinese dishes and western style dishes as well. It keeps me busy and makes me happy.
Conversation 2
A : What sort of experience do you have ?
B : I used to work as a mechanic and I was responsible for the maintenance of all the company vehicles.
A : Where was your last job?
B : I worked in Hanson Paper Company.
A : Why did you quit your last job?
B : Because the company is far away from home, and I have to study after work so I can’t afford to waste time on the road everyday.
Conversation 3
A : Why did you apply for the position?
B : I learned from your ad. That you will provide on-the-job training for new employees. This is just what I need, because I’m a recent college graduate. I have the necessary knowledge and skills but I lack experience.
A : What do you hope to become?
B : I want to prove my true value in the electronic industry, and hopefully in the near future I would be promoted to a higher position.
A : Well, thank you for coming . We’ll let you know as soon as possible.
Conversation 4
A : Good morning. Are you Mr.Liu?
B : Yes. My name is Liu Lizhi. How do you do ?
A : How do you do ? Please be seated, How is your trip here?
B : Quite good, I think . I came here by bus , and it took me about 15 minutes.
A : Oh, yes . How old are you ?
B : Twenty.
A : Hum, still a student?
B : Yes , I’m student of grade 3 in the university majoring in economics.
A : What subjects are you studying ?
B : English , math, commercial and legal studies , and accountancy.
A : Have you had any working experience.
B : Well, I worked at a supermarket during last summer holidays .
A : What do you like to do in your spare time?
B : I like sports very much . Besides that , I also like working on a computer in my spare time.
A : How are your English and computer skills?
B : I have passed the CET-4 and 6. As far as computer is concerned I can use the computer for word processing.
A : Okay. Mr.Liu, we’ll inform you of the results within a week.
Conversation 5
A : Good morning . My name’s Pat Green.
B : Good morning. Mr.Green . My name is Helen. What can I do for you ?
A : I read in the poster that you’re looking for a student to work as a language assistant.
B : Yes . Are you interested in the job?
A : I think so . But before I apply , could you tell me more about the work?
B : Have you eve worked with tape recorders before?
A : I used cassette recorders a lot when I studied English in high school.
B : Good. There are many different kind of language labs, but ours is a small one . If you decide to take the job, I’ll explain how to operate the system, Are you sure?
A : How many hours would I work a day and what’s the pay?
B : Ten hours a week . From Monday to Friday , from 4 to 6 P. m. , and $150 a week.
A : OK, I’ll take it .
B : Fine . Please fill out the application form.
