2010年8月15日舉行全國哀悼活動

從上句中我們可以看到，“全國哀悼日”的英語就是“the national day of mourning”。在今天，也會有默哀儀式，比如說：

Chinese President Hu Jintao paid a silent tribute here to victims of a massive mudslide in Zhouqu County.

上文中的“pay a silent tribute”就是“默哀”的意思。

今天，在天安門廣場也進行了降半旗(fly a flag at half-mast)的儀式，對喪生于泥石流的遇難者表示深切哀悼。
