《未選擇的路》是美國(guó)著名詩(shī)人羅伯特·弗羅斯特的著名詩(shī)篇。羅伯特·弗羅斯特堪稱(chēng)美國(guó)20世紀(jì)90年代最受歡迎的詩(shī)人之一,是美國(guó)非官方的桂冠詩(shī)人,他一生致力于詩(shī)歌的創(chuàng)作,主要寫(xiě)作并出版了10部詩(shī)集,這一首是其第三部詩(shī)集《山的間隔》中的名篇。弗羅斯特在詩(shī)歌風(fēng)格上的一個(gè)最大特點(diǎn)是樸素?zé)o華,含義雋永,把深刻的思考和哲理寓于平淡無(wú)奇的內(nèi)容和簡(jiǎn)潔樸實(shí)的詩(shī)句之中。本詩(shī)堪稱(chēng)是這方面的典范。這首詩(shī)的語(yǔ)言質(zhì)樸自然,但在構(gòu)思上卻非常巧妙。我們不難看出,詩(shī)歌中所描寫(xiě)的岔路就是人生岔路的象征。它說(shuō)明,在人生的旅途中,我們時(shí)常必須要在兩條道路、兩種思想或兩種行動(dòng)中做出選擇,不同的選擇將決定不同的人生方向。面對(duì)選擇時(shí),我們往往會(huì)變得猶豫不決,反復(fù)權(quán)衡,拿不定主意。最后,我們終究會(huì)選擇其中的一條路。
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
