在上面的報道中，people supervisor就是“人民監督員”，人民監督員來自普通平民，所以也可用grassroots supervisor來表示。Supervisor除了表示“監督人”之外，還可以表示“指導者，主管人”，例如：accounting supervisor(會計主管)?？紙龅目脊僖彩怯胹upervisor來表示。

設立人民監督員可以promote judicial fairness(促進司法公正)，主要監督duty crimes(職務犯罪)。人民監督員沒有薪酬，但是可以得到compensation for out-of-pocket expenses(經費補助)。
