1. off在這里表示的是出發或是離開的意思。

出去旅游：We’re off. Off we go.

2. 表示“今天我不用去上班”可以有：

I don’t have to work today.

I am off today.

如果比較這兩句的話是不是用off更簡潔呢？！

3. 其實off還可以表示“某家店不開張”。如：

We’re off today. 今天我們不開張。

She lives off campus.

她住在校外。

那么住在校內呢？對了，on campus.

5. 另外經常看美劇的同學還會聽到這樣一句：

不過完整的說法應該是：Keep off/keep away from my sofa.

6. off表示“取消”

Tell them the whole thing is off.

告訴他們整件事已經取消了。

7. on and off: 分分合合

記得Rachel說過這樣的話嗎？I and Ross have been on and off, on and off; but I feel someday we’ll be on.

我和Ross分分合合不知多少次了，但我總覺得有一天我們又能在一起了。

那么從上句可以看出on-and-off relationship指的就是分分合合的戀情。
