今天是咱們的傳統節日元宵節。通常外國人對咱們這種傳統節日都比較好奇，和老外聊到元宵節的時候，我們可以說什么呢？

元宵節的英文是Lantern Festival。因為正月十五是一年中第一個月圓之夜，所以叫元宵。

The 15th day of the 1st lunar month is the Chinese Lantern Festival because the first lunar monthis called yuan-month and in the ancient times people called night Xiao. The 15th day is the first night to see a full moon. So the day is also called Yuan Xiao Festival in China.

說完了起源，咱們說說習俗，元宵節我們做什么呢？我們賞花燈（colorful lanterns）、猜燈謎（solve the puzzles）、吃元宵（yuanxiao，glutinousrice ball）。

元宵有甜的也有咸的，甜的通常會用糖（sugar）、胡桃（Walnuts）, 芝麻（sesame）,桂花（osmanthus flowers）, 玫瑰（rose petals）、棗泥（jujube paste）等東西做餡. 咸的就可能會用肉餡（mincedmeat）或者蔬菜做餡了。

東風夜放花千樹，
