文中提到了吐魯番示范區(qū)今后將采用的幾種新技術(shù)。PV power(光伏發(fā)電)中PV是photovoltaic的縮寫，簡稱光電，是利用太陽能發(fā)電的最常見形式，因此太陽能發(fā)電就可以用solar PV generation來表示;ground source heat pumps(地源熱泵)利用的則是清潔的地熱能源;natural ventilation(自然通風)和natural light(自然光，也稱為daylighting)則減少了建筑物的能量消耗。

低碳運動可以使城市經(jīng)濟出現(xiàn)green recovery(綠色復蘇)，吐魯番作為這次的new-energy model city(新能源示范城市)將爭取把barren land(荒地)變?yōu)間reen oasis(綠洲)。其它城市也在積極建設(shè)low-carbon demonstration area(低碳示范區(qū))。
