A total of 117 people are being held in Southwest China’s Chongqing municipality for forgery as well as defacing road surfaces and the walls of public buildings with graffiti and illegal advertisements, local police said。

當地警方稱，位處中國西南的重慶市最近共抓獲了117名犯有偽造罪、以及在路面和建筑物墻面非法涂抹、張貼非法小廣告的人員。

文中的illegal advertisement就是指“非法小廣告”，也稱為unauthorized advertisements或者flyposting(非法張貼傳單)。比如：Random graffiti and flyposting have become a problem for many cities across the country。(隨意涂抹和張貼小廣告已成為我國很多城市的一大難題。)

文中提到的graffiti指的是公共場所亂涂亂畫，也稱為“涂鴉”。很多“辦證”廣告直接寫在墻面路面上，甚至連小廣告都不張貼，成為城市環境的一大痼疾。而這種頑疾對城市生活造成的污染就稱為graffiti pollution(涂鴉污染)。
