一、effect用作名詞

1. effect表示“對……的影響”，其后通常接介詞 on, upon。如：

The film had quite an effect on her. 這影片對她影響極大。

Her speech has produced little effect on the listeners. 她的演講沒對聽眾產生什么影響。

It had an almost immediate effect on his thinking. 這對他的思想立即產生影響。

It had had such a bad effect upon him. 它對他有很大的不良影響。

His satire had no effect on her. 他的諷刺對她沒有影響。

2. 注意以下各句的effect搭配：

The plan has been carried [put, brought] into effect. 這項計劃業已實行。

All our efforts were of no effect. 我們的一切努力都毫無作用。

The new law will take effect next May. 這項新的法律將于明年五月生效。zn

In effect he has no choice. 實際上他沒有選擇余地。

二、effect用作動詞

effect也可以用作動詞，表示“實現”，“進行”。如：

Rose tried to effect a reconciliation. 羅斯試圖進行和解。

We hope to effect an improvement. 我們希望取得改進。

They effected a revolution in the country. 他們在這個國家進行了革命。

注意，用作動詞的effect并不表示“影響”，同時注意它與動詞affect的不同：

This affected his attitude. 這影響了他的態度。

Smoking affects health. 吸煙影響身體。

The amount of rain affects the growth of crops. 雨量影響莊稼的生長。
