[?]：張開口，舌身平放，后縮，舌面微微下凹，舌尖離開下齒。
[?:]：張開口，但張口程度比[?]要小，舌身低平后縮。雙唇稍稍收圓，并向前突出。
容易出現(xiàn)的錯誤
有人容易把元音[?:]讀成了雙元音[au]
有人在[?:]和它前邊的輔音之間合攏雙唇，實際上等于加進了一個[u]或接近半元音[w]的音。如把call 讀作[kaul ]。
