1. 用作名詞，表示“注意”“小心”“關心”等，均為不可數名詞。如：

Care is needed when crossing the road. 過馬路時要小心。

The composition was written with great care. 這篇作文寫得很用心。

Her job was to take care of the wounded soldier. 她的工作就是照料這個傷員。

2. 用作動詞，注意以下用法：

(1) 后接不定式，表示“愿意”“喜歡”“想要”，通常用于否定句、疑問句或條件句等。如：

She did not care to go with them. 她不想和他們一道去。

Would you care to stay with us? 你想不想在我們這里住?

If you’ d care to see the photographs I’ll bring them round. 如果你有興趣看那些照片，我就帶來。

(2) 后接從句，表示“在乎”“在意”等，多用于否定句或疑問句，偶爾也用于肯定句。如：

I didn’t care which of us won. 我不介意我們之間哪一位獲勝。

I’ll go. I don’t care what happens. 我要去，我不管會發生什么情況。

Don’t you care what happens to him? 你難道不關心他出什么事嗎?

3. 用于 care about

(1) 表示“在乎”“介意”。如：

(2) 表示“對……感興趣”。如：

I don’t care about your opinion. 你的意見我不感興趣。

后接動名詞，表示想做某事。如：

4. 用于 care for

(1) 表示“喜歡”，通常用于否定句或疑問句。如：

有時還可接不定式的復合結構。如：
